EASTER FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT (LE TOURNOI) LA FERTE BERNARD

EASTER FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT (LE TOURNOI) LA FERTE BERNARD

Dear Player/Parent,

Louth Old Boys are proud to have been invited to participate in our Twin Towns, La Ferte Bernard's Annual Easter Football Tournament.

We have been invited to enter two seven aside teams (maximum of ten players per squad). This years age group is for players born in either 1996 or 1997, priority being given to players born in 1996 as the 1997 players can participate in next years tournament.

We will be travelling in two mini buses to the ferry/fast-cat crossing from Portsmouth in the early hours of Friday 2nd April and arrive back in Louth during the early hours of Tuesday 6th April.

The remaining seats left on the two mini buses will be taken up by the Team Managers and Trainers, the designated drivers and interested parents.

We will as we have over the past twenty years be staying in pairs as guests of the families of the La Ferte Bernard Football Club, all families involved have been checked for suitability through their football club.

Briefly once you have arrived your itinerary will be:-

Friday; you will meet your hosts at the 6pm reception and return to their homes to have an evening meal and spend the night.

Saturday; following breakfast and some free time in the morning you will be taken to the afternoon preliminary grading tournament playing until around 7pm before being collected to return to your family homes for an evening meal and another night's sleep.

Sunday; following an early breakfast you are taken back to the all day tournament and trophy presentation (9am - 7pm) before being collected to get washed/changed and return to the Gala Football Dinner with your family hosts.

Monday; free time until you all meet to depart around 12 noon with your trophies!

We as a Club have been participating in this tournament with other clubs from around Europe for over 20 years and we very much hope there will be enough interest to ensure we participate in 2010.

The cost of the trip will be approximately £75 each (the Club subsidise the overall costs) plus some spending money and a small gift for your French hosts, all insurances are covered by the Club.

More detailed itinerary and contact information will be given to those players/parents going to France.

If you would like to be considered for a place in one of the teams to represent Louth Old Boys then please let your Team Manager know as soon as possible.
